i want to dye sections of my hair pink.

i have dark burnette hair, and i was wondering

do i have to dye it blonde first?? you know like bleach it....becuase if i do, then is there any eaiser way to get light hair?

You do have to put highlights in your hair with a haircolor that lifts up to 5 levels or with bleach. Afterwards, you can deposit the pink. It's won't show up on dark hair, so that's why you need to pre-lighten, first.

You could visit Sally Beauty Supply. Buy a lightener packette like BW2 (it's very inexpensive in the 1oz packette size). Mix it with 20 volume developer and with a haircolor brush, paint in streaks of bleach. Make sure when you paint in streaks on your hair, the bleach stays moist, don't squish it, just paint in streaks.

When it has lightened (20 minutes or so), rinse, shampoo, towel dry and add the pink color, per instructions on the package.

The paint in method is a much easier way to lighten a few streaks of hair vs trying to foil your hair or bleach out large chunks.

As far as I know from doing hair everyonce in a while you will first have to bleach the sections that you want to dye pink.

There is now hair dye made specifically to lighten darker hair. I tried this and my hair was one step away from being blonde. I believe it's made by Loreal.

You have to bleach it to pale yellow, otherwise the pink won't take perfectly. Especially a baby pink. Magenta works better because if you can't get it to a pale yellow, it will usuallty cover pretty well. 20 volume most likely won't lift that light unless you have virgin hair. Even then, I'd use 30 or even 40 but be very careful.

there is a product that you can get at what ever store you go to like wal mart my hair is black and i wanted to put bright red streaks in it and so i went to wal mart and looked up on the top shelf and they had a product called color rayz and it comes in a ******* pink and a bright red i used it i used the bright red one and it worked wonderful i don't know exactly how it works but it worked on my hair so you could try that OK
