I want pink highlights...?

I have medium blonde hair and i want pink highlights that will wash out in about 2-4 weeks. I have never dyed my hair before so i know nothing about it so tell me everything that i need to know. thank you

I want pink highlights...?

There's a few way you can do this.....the easiest way for someone who knows nothing about hair coloring to get pink highlights is to use a pink spray-on haircolor...it washes out instantly but I would highly suggest you do that before you actually go through with dyeing your hair...this way if you don't like it, can just wash it out.

Now for the best way to achieve pink highlights. You will have to bleach highlights in your hair and then apply the pink dye.

You need a tint brush, a tint bowl (a plastic or glass bowl works fine too) latex or nyprex gloves and wear clothes you don't messing up a bit just in case.

To bleach you'll need a packet or two of a powder hair lightenter http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/1462/320... and mix that with a 30 volume creme developer http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/1470/760...

Mix according to instructions on the back of the bleach packet. You want it to be smoooth kinda like whipped cream or meragne.

Now you can start "painting" on streaks and highlights with your tintbrush (you can also use an old toothbrush to do this).

Check your hair every 5 minutes. You'd want it to be a pale yellow (like the inside of a banana peel). Rinse well with lukwewarm water then towell dry.

Manic Panic has pink dye and it doesn't last very long so you can use that. Just follow the directions on the jar.

For a good pink that is nice bright and lasts a while, use either Special Effects or jerome Russel Punky Color

You could probably get a semi-permanent hair color that would wash out like that.. but if I got pink I would want it permanent atleast... My friend kinda done something like that to hers only it was just her bangs, but it looked so cute, here is a pic of hers http://a80.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/imag...

Anyway, I think the pink highlights would be so freakin' rad.. lol. I'd go for it.

There's a brand of hair dye by Loreal called Color Pulse. It's temporary so it washes out in a few weeks. It doesn't have any chemicals that regular hair dye has, so it won't damage your hair. I recommend you use that. I'm not sure they have it in pink, though. If you have a Sallys near you, go there. They should have temporary hair dye in funky colors. If you need help, ask the lady who works there. They usually always have a certified hair specialist working.
