Colouring my hair?

I have very very dark brown hair and I would like to get it coloured, maybe highlights or something, im not sure. Has anyone got any suggestions on what i could do or colours that would look good? I wanted to have pink bits in my hair a while ago, a cerise colour but I dunno now.Im so bored with my hair!suggestions please?

Colouring my hair?

wow thats just like me! my hair is dark brown, and i want something different. something bold, but yet still pretty. i hate my natural hair cuz its frizzy so i straighten it, i lvoe my hair straight but it's just like everyone else's, i want something DIFFERENT, something UNIQUE. so i think i'm going to get the underside of my hair died either a light blue cuz i wear blue alot, or a faded pink. i thought you should go with pink UNDER your hair, so your natural hair color is on top and stuff. it'll looK REALLY pretty. if you wear pink that is, thats why i'm not sure. i don't wear pink that much, but i don't know.

Cut your hair is better

try using bright colours made just for darker hair they will last longer and wont damage your hair. you can get them from any shop in colours like red purple chocolate ect

Go to a good hairdresser..they have loads of colours and also you can hold them against your hair to see what suits you and looks great too.

Colouring my hair?

get a light shade of brown highlites, like a caramel color, those would look cute on dark brown hair.

maybe light blonde. Or red. If you have straight hair maybe blue?

Hello, I have very dark brown hear also.

I went for dark purple highlights which came out looking great with the shade. I tried pink before but you need to go for a really bold cerise to really have an effect.

I found 2 shades of purple, one very dark in bold highlights and a lighter in fine highlights had a great effect - noticeable but not to studenty. Hope this help - all the best.

How about Garnier Multi Lights? They're a permanent bleaching highlight set, but you apply the mixture with a mascara style wand, so you can make it as dramatic or subtle as you like. I think it comes in 4 varieties and is priced at about 鎷?.50-鎷?.00 - cheapest place to buy is Wilkinsons.

if u have dark brown hair a nice red highlights would look wild in ur hair bright red

it depends on the undertones of your skin. to be safe, you can dye your hair three shades lighter than your original hair color. you can go auburn or maybe strawberry blonde highlights. it's best for you to consult a professional stylist just so you wouldn't look horrific after getting your hair dyed.

why are u asking us ??

go see an expert hairdresser, no good cost-cutting or u will be sorry about it later !!

Colouring my hair?

try blonde

Colouring my hair?

I suggest you go to a salon!!... dark hair , it takes a few of them to get the right color, don't use a bleach color it takes all the color out , you dont want that... stay away from golden colors!

Colouring my hair?

i have dark brown hair (well it would be grey if i didnt have it coloured) and i have a brown base colour put on and then i have vibrant red highlights put in although i'me 51 everybody says how good it looks i have this done every 4 weeks

Your little picture has curley hair, if your's is curly I would kave it done by a hairdresser for the first time and I would just get a few tendrils done. It can look lovely done like that. Then when you see how the professional does it you could do it like that at home next time. Couldn't you try the coloured pieces I often see in the shops. You could try different colours to see which looked best before having it coloured.

You should take several things into consideration:

The condition of your hair

Recent chemical processes

The length of your hair

Your skin tones

How do you generally style your hair

Your profession

How much do you want to spend

Can you manage the upkeep

Are you prone to making changes

Where do you live

Your age

Are you trying to enhance your appearance or trying to make a more obvious statement? If you hair has suffered chemical processes recently (up to at least the last year depending onthe length), and depending on what process will have to be done to achieve the look you want, you may have to cut and especially condition your hair. With very dark hair, you may be limited as to how much "lift: (degree of lightening) can be obtained and that will affect the final result. If you are in the mood for something subdued and classic, try some highlights with honey brown, chestnut, warm tones.......deep highlights using red, burgandy or plum shades would be pleasant. For maximum impact you could try for a silver blonde frosting but not every complexion can dwell will with that dramatic contrast. Again, do you want a subtle, natural look or something more obvious. What every you do, please do a strand test so you won't be disappointed. If you are going to a salon you're more likely to end up with the real look you want. If you're doing this at home, at least have a friend (it's good to have an extra pair of hands) to help you. With the prevelance of extensions and many other "hair candy" items, you may want to give these options a try. I know it's a throwback to several decades ago, but beading may give you a hair boost....I'm not talking Bo Derek ("10") but something on the sides. The length of your hair plays a big role in all of this.....short hair lends itself to dramatic color......the choices are endless....i.e. a short "do" that is cerese and properly styled is going to work better than shoulder-length tresses colored the same way. I have a soft spot for red but my hair naturally lends itself genetically......my Daughter has charcoal-brown hair and very fair skin and obvious reds or blonds just don't work. Go to your local beauty supply store and ask the advice of a professional (especially if this to be a "kitchen job"). Just answering this question, I'm excited for you...I've been a hairdresser for over 30 years. Have fun!

Go to a professional. I am not sure whether you have colored hair or natural hair, but it is rather impossible to apply a lighter shade hair color on your hair and then expect that the color changes to the lighter shade. Especially, when it comes to unnatural shades like pink, only a professional can create that shade for you.

I would just get a resyle if ur bored.....highlights are high maintainace and will cost money every 8 weeks!!!! honestly i was in ur shoes once and i dyed my hair and its the worst thing iver done, u will regret it big time cus ur hair will never be the same agen, it will become thin, unruley and frizzy! dont do it!!!!!! stay natural!
